I just love making my own hot cocoa. Honestly, it just taste better than the packaged stuff. I know it is not as convenient as ripping open a hot chocolate envelope and dumping it into a cup and putting it in the microwave. But to make hot cocoa on the stove takes about the same amount of time and you get a way better quality drink. I started making my own hot chocolate a few years back simply because I wanted to take control of my food. I realized the amount of sugar in one packet was more than my entire daily allowance. I knew I could do better than that. Check out the recipe below and give it a whirl. When you first make it, you might want more syrup but as you continue to make it just add less and less syrup. Your taste buds will adapt over time. Enjoy
